Vision Therapy

Vision Therapy, or VT, is an individualized, supervised, treatment program designed to correct visual-motor and/or perceptual-cognitive deficiencies.

  • Learning-related Vision Problems, including visual problems related to ADD/ADHD, Dyslexia, letter reversals, reading and reading comprehension problems, Non-Verbal Learning Disability (NLD), etc.

  • Eye Teaming Binocular Vision and Focusing Disorders

  • Tracking Problems including loss of place when reading

  • Strabismus (eye turns) and Amblyopia or Lazy Eye

  • Visual Rehabilitation following patients with Brain Injury, Stroke, Developmental Delays, Cerebral Palsy, Multiple Sclerosis, etc.

  • Computer Vision Syndrome

Vision Therapy sessions include procedures designed to enhance the brain's ability to control:

  • Eye alignment

  • Eye tracking and eye teaming

  • Eye focusing abilities

  • Eye movements

  • Visual processing

Visual-motor skills and endurance are developed through the use of specialized computer and optical devices, including therapeutic lenses, prisms, and filters. During the final stages of therapy, the patient's newly acquired visual skills are reinforced and made automatic through repetition and by integration with executive function, motor, and cognitive skills.
